First Trimester, Advice?

Hello! I am 22 years old and only 3 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I know that the first trimester is the most crucial time and was just wondering if anyone has any advice that may be helpful. Any do's or don't's. I just want everything to go smoothly obviously and want to make sure I'm doing everything possible in my baby's best interest. Thank you ladies in advance!

Vitamins and staying active. That's my advice.  I didn't find out that I was pregnant until I was 10 weeks, so I didn't really change much of my life during  that time. After I did find out I started going for daily walks to help stay active so I didn't feel quite as run down and taking prenatal vitamins.  The rest is just depends on you,  your body, your lifestyle, and what you can handle.  Since you found out so early I'm assuming you've been trying for awhile??  So if there are any concerns or risks that you have about miscarriages (I feel horrible for bringing that up) but discuss it with your doctor if you need any more restrictions to your daily activities. Congratulations and good luck.  Pregnancy is definitely a rocky road all the way to the end!  Or at least it has been for me. Lol

Beauty 1229- of course it's possible to find out your pregnant at 3 weeks.. Your comment was abit negative, you should keep your negative comments to yourself considering this girl has just found out she's pregnant & was only asking for some advice. Every pregnancy may be different however she may experience some things similar to other people. Just to let you know auxierta93 some pregnancy symptoms include being moody as you can see by the comment beauty 1229 left you.  Anyway.. Just enjoy your pregnancy, & congratulations :)

Thank you all so much! I appreciate everything that was said. I understand every pregnancy is different, I was just seeking advice/input. I'm actually 4 weeks today. I found out so early because we were trying to conceive, regularly taking tests, and I went to the doctor after the positive results came about two days ago. Thanks!

Take prenatals and one extra folic acid . The over the counter prenatals aren't that strong in folic acid so taking that extra folic acid is good! My doctor prescribed me prenatals because of the reason of them not being as strong as the baby needs . Don't get too hungry. Sleep when your tired. No stress! No heavy lifting . Drink lots of water and stay hydrated . Don't have barely any caffeine especially first trimester . Safest time to color hair is second trimester . Stay away from strong fumes such as paint . Good luck!! I'm 30 weeks 1 day !

Every pregnancy is different, but thought I'd tell you what worked for me so you could at least try if you needed to! My morning sickness was horrid-started around 8 weeks. My only saviour was watermelon! I think because it gives you a bit of natural sugar but also really hydrates you. Every morning i would go and eat as much as i could fit in first thing, and it made me feel so much better for most part of the day. Especially when i couldn't stomach much food at all so it kept me from ending up in emergency many times i believe. Good luck with your pregnancy!

If u have morning sickness, try ginger ale, sour candy(i found jolly ranchers worked best for me) and always eat small snacks during the day(keeping belly full keeps u from feeling sick, when u get hungry u get nauseas) i suggest not telling a lot of people until 12 wks, get a ton of sleep, invest in a maternity pillow b4 ur 3rd trimester! Have fun and enjoy the pregnancy! It may seem like it drags but b4 uk it ur gonna b at the end!

The best advice I have is keep crackers or cereal by your bed and eat before you get up. It will help with morning sickness if you get it. Some are lucky and don't! If you feel dizzy, sit down right away. I fainted at work and had to go to the ER. Stay hydrated. If you're throwing up more than you're putting in, go to the ER. They will give you meds that are ok to take for nausea and vomiting. Stay hydrated and snack when you can. Never let yourself get too hungry.
And my last piece of advice, don't listen to anyone but your doctor on what's right and wrong about the meds they give you. Voice any concerns with them, not the public. You'll just get a ton of mixed answers. :)

Get rest. No meds. No lifting. Don't tell coworkers until 12 weeks. Sleep on your left side. Eat yogurt so that you don't get yeast infections. Limit soda and caffeine. No smoking. No drinking. And enjoy being pregnant!! Congrats!!
