For third trimester moms, what do your bh feel like?

I'm trying to gauge if my BH are on the normal side or not. I've been in L&D once for preterm and now I have a scrip for procordia(sp?) to stall the contractions. So far I haven't taken it because they haven't been closer than 5 minutes apart since that one night I went into the hospital. Anyhow here is the description on what I feel and how often. Oh I'm 29 weeks.

I get the tight feeling ones where my whole belly goes rock hard and it lasts a little less than a minute. Not painful just there about 10 times a day on average. Then I get the rock hard belly contracations that seem to tug at my back and sides it feels more like menstral cramps. I get like a hot flash when those ones happen and my face goes flush. They last just over a minute and will get a wince or an ouch out of me. Thoes don't happen as much probably 4 a day unless I'm having a bad contraction day and then up to 10 or 15.

Anyone else having the same thing or anything like it?

Thanks!

ohhhh, ok.

Come to think of it I agree w/ Anya1984 that you should mention the flushing w/ painful contraction to your doctor.  Flushing can definitely happen with a BH contraction but BH's arent typically painful......

It's used to reduce contractions and the ob said that I don't have to take it unless they get around the 5 minute mark. I think it's similar to tributaline.

What really matters is the frequency with which any contraction you might experience occurs and whether they are regular or sporadic.

Im not familiar w/ procorida.  Is this only to be taken if your contractions are less than 5 min apart or is it used to prevent contractions in the first place?

No, I just get regular BH but they are what you described first..I don't get other contractions where my face would go red. Did you talk to doc, is that normal?
