Friend with pcos

Im currently 13 Weeks pregnant and my friend now wants to try for a baby. however she has been diagnosed with pcos and doesn't have the money to cover fertility treatments, and her insurance doesn't cover it. Her husband really wants to try aswell. Im asking this because I don't want to give her false information, I hadn't conceived until now which took me 4 years, still no answer to why it took so long. So here is the info. She has had 3 periods so far this year which is the most she's had in years. She stated this month on the 27th. So would she ovulate like normal? Should I tell her to do the naughty everyday? I've researched this so much, but I can't really find a good answer I can give to her.

She really wants to try naturally, she's on her period now, so hopefully she ovulates. I will tell her about the weight thing though, I probably need to follow that myself after the babies here.

I was diagnosed with PCOS. At first I was happy to finally know why I hadn't ever been pregnant. I started with clomid but I didn't work for me. I tried metformin but I was sick and stopped taking it. I started going to a fertility center with the little money I had. I did the blood work and I had to get my tubes checked but had to cancel the appointment twice. I was at my breaking point thinking it would never happen. Couple months after I noticed my appetite was changing. Thought "wouldn't it be funny if I was pregnant". Didn't actually expect that to be the reason for the appetite change. I took 5 tests in disbelief and cried when I saw my baby and heard the heartbeat for the first time. I'm now 16weeks5days and I get to find out what the gender is in one week. Tell your friend to never lose hope because it will happen even with PCOS. Don't go the fertility route. I thought tht was what I had to do and it happened naturally. I will keep your friend in my prayers tht she gets blessed the way I have.

You should tell her to follow a no sugar and low carb diet (no white carbs) if she wants to lose weight. It's so hard to lose weight with pcos and that diet is tge only thing that helped me..I.swear to this day if I hadn't of dieted and lost that weight then I wouldn't have my daughter.. of course if she isn't struggling with weight then she shouldn't be losing if she's slim already. There are many online support and help forums for pcos she could try. Tgeres even one in here xx

She should try clomid. Its fairly inexpensive, and a safer fertility treatment for someone with pcos (less chance of multiples). Clomid helps with ovulation, so it should have her ovulating. She should take between days 3-7 of her cycle. If she hasn't gotten a period, she should induce one by taking birth control pills for 10-14 days.
