I was positive with my first. He is now almost 9 and perfect :) its an over production of a bacteria in the vaginal canal. Every women has the bacteria it grows from but some women just over produce and thats why you are GBS positive. You just have an IV with antibiotics during labour, if your labour is too quick they give the antibiotics to your baby after born for a few days. I wasnt positive with my second and im now 27+2 with my 3rd. Hoping i dont have it again as not the biggest fan of needles lol but ur baby will be fine and so will you :)
Okay thank you ericatoday I feel better now.
They treat it during labor with antibiotics in your iv. It really isnt anything to worry about and the chances of it harming baby without the antibiotics is really slim.
Ok thank you. My Obgyn didn't give me any antibiotics for it she just told me I was positive but I shouldn't worry. I wish she would have told me more about it because I'm 37 weeks and I don't want to go into labor and not being treated for it.
Your ob should prescribe you antibiotics for it it can cause preterm labor
Its group b strep its an infection caused by a common bacterium.
Youll be fine. Its actually not a big deal at all a lot of women get it. When you go into labor and go to the hospital let them know and they will give you some antibiotics and youll be fine.
