Hi ladies  i had my midwife appointment today and got some  gd and bad news :(
my iron levels are only 9.9  which is terrible, as they are ment to be in the 1400's atleast. mine  arnt even close as i sed mine are only 9.9 lower than before, im  now on  iron  meds to try and help get  my levels bk up but i only have 2 weeks left till my due date! im bit gutted reallly as i was aving a waterbirth and still hoping to but my midwife sed to me  this mornin that the way my iron levels are at the moment there will b no water birth!  only if i can get my iron level closer to the right level before  i go int laour, i will probs b able to av a waterbirth.  but  the good news in 1 way is  the baby is now 3/5ths engaged. but  to me its also bad as  my iron is so low and if i was to go into labour tonite for example there is a gd chance i could hemoridge. sorry bout the spelling!  so what do you all think?  oppinions needed plz.

I've been having iron level issues since I got pregnant with my first child.
I'm doing better now that I stopped breastfeeding.
Because while I was pregnant and breastfeeding, my iron levels went from bad, to worse.
Now I'm at a pretty healthy 11.3 and I'm glad.
I was under a 7 before I stopped breastfeeding and I was ALWAYS worn out.

I'm sure you'll be fine, just remember to take your meds everyday!!

Hi, I have also had blood tests back that indicate my iron levels are very low too at 10.7. My doc says I have to go and see her before I can have the meds though, but this is going to delay me getting on them. I did not know low iron could mean poblems at birth. What can happen if levels are too low at delivery?
