Gestational Diabetes

Anyone have gestational diabetes? Do you take insulin? Were you induced or will you be? I've been poking my finger least 6 times a day. I have pretty much changed my diet, and count carbs but my blood sugar is still usually high.. Thinking I'm gunna be doing insulin :'(  really don't like needles and don't know how I'm gunna be able to give it to myself!!!

My mom and my little brother are both pre diabetic. So I'm praying this will go away after baby is born!

They said they want my fasting to be between like 65 and 95!! And under 130 an hour after eating... Ive had some under 100 before breakfast but probably not as much as i should. Or like last night I ate a s'more bout 9pm. At bout midnight it was 111 and by 10am this morning it was 109!!!!
I'm going on 2 weeks of poking my finger 6 times a days. This past week was my last week to try and control it before insulin.
Found out I had gestational at 27weeks. Didn't hear from anyone bout it til 29 weeks. I've measured right every week since..

I do not take insulin. I might have to be induced if ultrasounds show baby is too big...I am reallhyhoping not :( this really *****..I want him out so it will hopefully go away. I don't want to be pricking fingers rest of my life...I can't afford it after I lose medicaid when he is old enough anyways! I'm going to have to diet and exercise...or I will. Get type 2 diabetes. My dad was diagnosed at 51 :/

I have gestational diabetes...I have to check my sugar 4x a day. My doctor made my goal for fasting to be 100 or less and 2 hours after meals 129 or less..I have been monitoring for two days and have had only 1 bad reading @ 136...which was after dinner time and was most likely because I ate fudge bar ( I was craving sugar and the fudge
bar is 100 cal, 16 g sugar so I thought my body
might be able to process it). My fasting has ranged from 90 to 100...

I was alternating pricking my fanger before then after breakfast the first day then before and after breakfast again but then an hr after lunch and dinner that same day. I was borderline and one doctor was even trying to put me on insulin cause of my blood sugar first thing in the morning was a little high but I changed my diet and exercised everyday and then my levels went down. I lost 17 lbs and im 34 wks and when they did the routine gestational diabeties 2 hr test I passed with flying colors. First one I had done early in pregnancy 12 wks and I was told at my last appointment to keep taking my blood sugar but if I was going to get it then I would have by now. I no longer have to see that doctor, just my regular obgyn.

I had it with my first and I fear ill have it again. :( I was induced at 40 weeks. I managed it with diet and exercise.  I got it good enough to not be considered high risk and was able to go to my normal clinic. My LO came out 6lbs. Never had to do insulin. Its so hard but worth it when you find out your baby is small and no c section! Good luck!

I have to do the 6 blood sugar checks a day with the weekly sonos. So far I don't have to do the insulin. Good luck.
