Gestational Sac

Ok So First I would like to know the earliest that I can receive a positive on a home pregancy test?? The first home pregnancy test I took was on the 18th of this month. I went to the doctors Yesterday and had an ultra sound, All they could see was the gestational sac? She also said that I am in the gestational stage? How early can you see this in a vaginal ultra sound? I am just really worried. I go back in two weeks for another ultra sound, she said that I should see a big difference but what if I dont? I am also on Metformin and read that it decreases my chance of having a miscarriage, is that true?

Well, I wish you the best of luck!!  I go back on monday for my 5th u/s because they were worried my baby was ectopic.  They still aren't ruling it out b/c based on my lmp I should be almost 8 weeks, but based on my levels and the size of my g-sac I'm almost 6 weeks.  I also have a tipped uterus, which may have some effect on how things are being seen - we are hoping to see a HB on monday.  Good luck to you and your baby!!!!

Earliest depends on the levels of hcg in your urine.  Best time to test is at least 14 dpo, and use first morning urine.  A gestational sac is a great sign, I just saw mine on wednesday for the first time!!  Some people can see it as early as 4 weeks and some don't see it until 9 weeks depending on the position of their uterus.  Metformin will help decrease your chances for miscarriage, so that is great.  Be sure to also take your prenatals, as they are very important for baby.  Don't stress as it isn't good for baby.  In the first stages of pregnancy, things change very fast, so in 2 weeks, hopefully by then you should be able to see the HB!!!!  Good luck!!!!
