Getting your tubes tied

I live in Illinois and I am having my second child in November. I would like to get my tubes tied but am hearing mixed answers on if I can or not. Some ppl are saying even though I have 2 kids I still need to be at least 25 and others are saying that now I have 2 kids I can. I looked on the Internet and have yet 2 find a definite answer. Do any of you know anyone who may have gotten them tied and what age did it happen?

I honestly think it depends on your doctor. Some drs will do it and others won't till your older. My Dr did mine and I'm 24 and just had my 3rd baby but since I had complications with my pregnancy the Dr said it would be s good idea to get it done but she didn't want to do it unless I was 100% sure I wanted it done.

I'm 22 and will be having my tubes tied in August I'm pregnant with my third and told my doctor I wanted it done and I signed papers for the procedure at my last appointment

And usually online in illinois you gotta be 21 and have 2 kids

Im 21 and gonna have my second child in illinois too but i wanna get my tubes burned.! Imma ask my doc august 7th

It all depends on your doctor. There is no law on when you can and can't. A lot of doctors won't do it until you are older though. My doctor won't do it until you are 25 or older and have kids.

I was wondering the same thing. If this baby is a girl I was debating on it. But I think he should be snipped but he's afraid if I want another tubes can be reversed...sperm can be frozen though. Lol

I live in Peoria Illinois my doctor told me at least 2children and you have to b 21or older

I've always heard you have to either have 2+ kids or be 25. But you can always call the hospital and ask, they'll know (:
