Glass Bottles

How do you ladies feel about glass bottles? When my son was little (he's 10 now) I used plastic bottles with him & never had any problems with them. But now that I'm pregnant with my second son (almost 20 weeks to be exact tomorrow) my best friend said that I should try them but I don't know. What do you ladies think?

Oh and when you warm them if the go from cold to hot too fast they can break. So you need to use caution when heating.

The only problem with glass bottles is if your baby is going to be in childcare they may not be allowed. I know licensing for child cares in Minnesota does not allow glass bottle.

Well that makes sense for breastfed babies, I plan on bottle feeding my son because I'm used to it but now that I think about it breastfeeding does sound like a much better alternative than bottle feeding, I just don't have the time for it, my friend just suggested the glass bottles thing to me as an recommendation

I have a friend who uses glass bottles and i never thought about it before but watching her little man and him being strictly breast fed it made making bottles for him so super easy. Since you dont want to stick breast milk in microwave you have to boil the water and thaw out the milk that way and having the glass bottle is so wonderful as it wont melt. If you are breastfeeding i would suggest glass bottles, if you are just using formula than its not gonna matter.

I favored the Playtex ones that you put the bags into with my first (he's 5 now) because you only have to serialize the nipple and ring. Everything else can be hand washed. Which was a big plus for me, unless you want to go out and buy a dozen or more bottles (or if you have time to serialize them more than once a day). I worked full time after 8 Weeks, and I didn't trust the babysitter to serialize a well as I did. Target sells a store brand liner that is cheaper than the name brand ones....so I only needed to buy 6 bottles and 12 or so nipples and then I could sterilize them at night and then give them to the sitter, all ready to go in the morning.

Oh ok, I'm going to definitely think about it, I still got less than 5 months to go so when I do my baby registry I can check them out :)

Glass bottles you don't need bags there like plastic bottles but glass. My cousin got me some haven't used them yet cause the baby's not here but I Hurd there way better then plastic less germs and its more fresh for the baby.

I think that I might just stick with plastic bottles since I have history with them & their not expensive either. Glass bottles seem so old fashioned & I don't even know if you have to buy the plastic bags separately or if they come with them.

Are they the ones that come with the plastic inside of them that you put the milk into?

Me and my boyfriend are very clumsy and I just see us breaking them more than anything. So plastic bottles it is for us (:
