I did the hour test and the nurse told me I should eat... Bad idea.. I ate a breakfast sandwich.. which I wouldn't normally eat b4 going to the doctor bcuz I set my appointment so early but bcuz this nurse told me to eat I did... I ended up having to reschedule bcuz my levels were already passed the point where they cut off testing.. once I went back the second time on a empty stomach I passed the test
Yea i had to fast for 1 hr and 3 hr.
Ohh wow thats horrible,, i hope a pass the 1 hour
I had a pork chop before I took mine and I passed
And i did had to fast for the 1 hour also
Try not to eat nothing too sweet the day before.. the day before my 1 hour glucouse i ate 1 cinnabon and a caramel frappuccino from starbucks and i failed my test so i had to go back again and do the 3 hour glucose you get blood drawn 4 times in 3 hours and you need to stay there the whole time also you cant drink or eat anything for 8 hours before and then the 3 hours for the test not even water.. Thank god I did pass the 3 hour though but im sure i didnt pass the 1 hour because of all the sugar i ate the day before..
Well from what i understand the 1 hour one u can do eat everything you would normally just nothing too sweet,, and the 3 hour test is the one that is most delicate
I think there is confusion on here between the 1 hour screen and the 3 hour diagnostic TEST.
I couldnt eat anything from midnight on but my test was at 8 am so it wasnt too bad
Lol well I ate a croissant sandwich from burger King and drank an orange juice maybe an hour before I went in. They told me to eat like normal so I did. And my test still came back negative. Just do exactly what YOUR doctor told you to do. It seems that all docs and clinics are different.
You cant eat the night before so no eating from 9o'clock on the night but you can eat after the test because if you eat you will fail and you would have to do the test again you can have little sips of water
I'm pretty sure your doc would say to have your NORMAL carbohydrate intake. Don't go crazy and have too much or too little. The point is to check your body's response to a glucose load. You will probably be getting a 50 or 75 gram glucose drink when you arrive, so if you go in already "carbed up", you may get a false positive. Then your doc will send you for the infamous 3 hour GTT.
Atleast you can eat, here when we get that test we can eat for at least 10 hours before
Just eat something not too sugary:) and drink lots of water.
I had some fruity pebbles, and did my test around noon. I passed.
Yeah im having the 1 hour one nd i guess thats why they didnt ask me to fast,, yeah i would die if i cant eat for that long lol
You need to fast for the 3 hour GTT. I believe the prep for the 1 hour glucose screen is non-fastiing.
I was not allowed to eat or drink anything after 12the night before it.
My appointment was at 4 pm so I ate a plain bowl of corn flakes...then I are a **** ton after my appointment
I didn't eat anything before mine. But I had it done at 11 so i didn't have to starve all day
My midwife told me to go in the morning. So I went before I had breakfast. I didn't eat anything. She said if I could wait to eat...that would be best
Ohh wow i think i would pass out haha my appt is at 2 pm so i dont think i could be like that all day
I was told all I could have was natural almonds and water
