Glucose test question

I'all be 32weeks on tuesday nd I'm going to take my glucose test tomorrow yes I know I'm kind of late doing it but I switched doctors. So my question is what can I eat where it won't cause my sugar to go up nd I have to take the 3hr test because I really don't want to do that. What happened with your own experiences at your test. Did you throw up the drink? Was it nasty? What does it taste like? Sorry ftm thanks in advance ladies

When I had my test done, the drink wasn't that bad. It seemed like it was going to be, but it wasn't at all. It's just a lil thick. But it kind of tasted like a watery Sprite to me

If you chose not to fast because you doctor said you don't need to you'll want to avoid fruit/juice and milk. Do something high in protein, like eggs. It will help keep your energy up. If you do an omelet with veggies and cheese that should be perfect. Veggies and cheese have little to no carbs and won't harm your levels. Another thing to not eat would be carbs, like breads and the like. The drink is VERY sweet, like kool-aid with 3x as much sugar. I got lightheaded when I drank it and almost passed out. Talk to them if that happens. Good luck and try to relax, stress can have some effects on your levels as well.

My doctor told me to fast but only for 4 hours. I fasted for longer though because I went first thing in the morning before I ate anything . I passed it fine.  I would rather fast a bit longer then have to take that three hour test.

I had mine done at 32 weeks too
First u need to fast for 12hrs but water is fine..
They give you one needle then they give you the drink its so sweet yuk.. then they make u wait 1 hr before ur second test i waitied one hr and she comes out and goes ready for your second needle im like im ready to vomit and run so fast to the toilet and vomited then she goes quickly sit down and ill give u the second needle to check your sugar levels but your midwifes might ask u to do it again.... i did it and left without the third needle.. i went to see my midwifes a few days later and she said my levels were low on the first two tests so i should be fine but asked me to do it again i said 100% NO if my levels are low then i dont care... she said yeah i guess thats fine then.. it was so horrible to fast for the long then just have sugar inside you i never have sugar that early in the morning so my bub felt very sick and didnt like it!! Goodluck but
