Group B Strep

Just found out that mine came back positive, have my doctors appointment Wednesday... Any other mommies out there positive? Why does it mean? Is it harmful to the baby?

Those questions should be answered by your doctor....  Why didn't  you asked. Not to be rude or anything like that. But please here will say their experiences but every body it's different

If you test positive for GBS and meet the high risk criteria, then your physician will recommend giving you antibiotics through IV during your delivery to prevent your baby from becoming ill. Taking antibiotics greatly decreases the chances of your baby developing early onset group B strep infection.

I can't remember all the way. I remember my doc saying they give females medicine for that when your in labor so it doesn't harm the baby. I'll look it up for u
