Group B strep positive!

has anyone else had to experience this? What was it like and how was your hospital stay? Did they treat you or baby for it? I'm terrified for my baby and I would hate to see him turned into a pin cushion so early but the nurse said they don't treat me they treat him which doesn't make sense to me. Any advice. I'm due in 2 weeks and after finding this out I'm a wreck of nerves.

I also got told this during the week and today is my due date, I was worried at first but apparently it's a fairly common thing! I was told I'd be give penicillin through iv while in labour so baby is ok!

I just took my test, and I was told if it's positive they give you antibiotics when you're in labor so it doesn't colonized to the baby, if treated before labor, will be given another during labor

I was positive for gbs and went into labor Yesterday and they gave me antibiotics through the iv so when I delivery it won't pass through and give to baby. And after just watch baby for two days to see if he doesn't have any infection. No need to worry momma

I got treated for it earlier in my pregnancy. They should have already done test & treated you so that you wouldn't make the baby sick while delivering. The gave me antibiotics.
