If you continue to take the progesterone you will prolong the miscarriage. If you stop taking it you may start to miscarry. Progesterone tells your body to not menstruate; it tells your body you are pregnant. So without it your body will most likely expel everything if you have a true blighted ovum.
Thanks for your response. I do agree with it. It just seems odd that my HCG levels kept rising even before I started the progesterone. Plus the progesterone can't cause my hcg levels to rise so.....just weird. Guess we'll find out more with our next u/s.
It is the tissue causing your HCG to rise. If you have a blighted ovum the ovum is the one causing your HCG levels to plateau and slightly rise. But hopefully it was just a fluke and you're still pregnant and not going to miscarry. Please let us know what the U/S finds!
Nope. Had ultrasound today and it's still just a sac. Doctor is going to call about options. This will be my second loss. Hopefully our 3rd time will be the charm.
I myself had a blighted ovum the miscarriage process took 2 weeks. My body didn't start the miscarriage process for almost 3 weeks. My prayers are with you in this. It's a hard thing to go through. I hope all goes well with it.
