Oh, I forgot to mention, when the vomiting stops, bananas are wonderful for stopping diarrhea. It works wonders!!!
I had this problem recently with my 18 month old. It was about a month or so ago. She couldn't hold down water, Pedialyte, Motrin, etc. She couldn't hold anything down. My ped (this was on a Friday after they had just closed), said to give her super small amounts of the Pedialyte. She said to put it in a dropper and give her a like 2 ml's every 10 minutes or so. That seemed to help and to work. Whatever you do, don't give her any solid foods or forumula until this has stopped for about 2 days. If you start her regular diet too soon, this will just start all over. My ped also said Gatorade was fine if that was what my baby preferred and mine does, so that's what I give her. And there are so many flavors to choose from versus the Pedialyte. So, give this a try. My 18 month old is number 5, so I have been through this many times. But if she stops having wet diapers, etc., take to her the ER or her pediatrician. If it's really late, don't forget, you can always call a 24 hour pharmacy and speak to a Pharmacist. I've done that also. I hope Aubree is feeling better really soon. I know this is awful :(
What I would do it give her smaller amounts of ped/juice mix every hour or so. The stuff tastes nasty and is really salty so it is good that she is drinking it. Also if you give her too much it may be harsh on her stomach. There is not much doctors can do for her except put an IV in if she is dehydrated, but it seems like she is keeping some of it down. I know when Ethan was sick he would guzzle down a bottle then throw it up. Poor kid was so thristy! Then I just started making him smaller bottles and giving him small amounts of pedialyte. He was able to tolerate that.
i hate doctors like that. If my kid was doing that i would take her to the er. even though my er is stupid and probably wouldnt do anything anyways, but I dont play around with stomach virus' and dehydration because im so sensitive to it ( can die from them) yuck!
I gave her a little tylenol and she has been sleeping ever since ( so about 2 hours) I called the ped.. and she told me to wait it out... that aubree is gonna get sick many many times and to try not to get so upset unless she starts showing dehydration signs..
I wouldn't take her to the er...this doesn't seem like an emergency HOWEVER I would call the pediatrician for an appointment ASAP.
I would take her straight to the ped or the er.
I was giving her tyelnol every 4 hours but she seemed soo loppy that I got afraid to give her any more.. so I stoped giving it to her.. I think she is teething also.. which makes it even worse.. i just don't know what to do.. shes even throwing up the pedialyte but right after she throws up she wants another bottle... I wait an hour and give her one and she throws it up again.. this is how the past three days has been
Have you gave her any Med's? like tylenol?
