We have had se good and bad experiences with USAA too. I'm in collections bc they haven't paid my medical bills from an auto accident last year. I had to hire a lawyer and still getting it settled
:P. But... GOOD LUCK!!! I pray you get this job!! And now you have me wanting some waffles and hash browns lol!
Hope you get the job!! Keeping every thing crossed for you :)
Sending you good "Job" vibes..
I hope you get the job!!!!! My fingers, toes....everything are crossed for you, hoping you get it! Oh yes and.......I'm sending you lots and lots and LOTS of work dust!!!!!!!! :)
We haven't had any problems with USAA accept for our mortgage loan guy, he was a complete @$$!!! I love USAA for the most part, we've had them for the entire time DH has been in the Army, and I don't ever plan on getting rid of them. We save SO much money on insurance, and have gotten really good rates.
I love that, Ivy! It is always good to hear that there are still some good people in this world. It is so sad that companies are all about the money and have so little compassion for families! I'm so glad you called him back. He will never forget that! I think far too many people call to complain (rightfully so) but never follow-up with thank yous. I always try to keep in mind that positive reinforcement can be so much stronger than negative reinforcement sometimes! :o)
As for USAA, we did have some problems with them a little over a year ago. Our mortgage payments had just started on our new house, and it didn't look like the payment went through. My husband attempted the payment process again. Well, turned out, unbeknownst to him, they BOTH went through. We were on vacation and my husband went to withdraw some money and he had a negative balance. Turns out USAA was letting his debit transactions go through, but charging him $20 overdraft fee each time! Without any notification or indication that there was no money in there, my hubby had continued using the card thinking he had well over a thousand dollars in there. We complained, (said they should have just refused the charges the first or at least the second time so we would know to stop and figure out what was wrong) but they would not refund the charges even though DH never overdrafts and they could see what had happened with the double mortgage pmt (they are also our mortgage holder). We are with another bank now because of it.
Wishing you the very best of luck! It is hard enough being pregnant and raising children without so much additional stress, and I am sorry for what you are going through!
Ivy, you made me cry! That is an amazing story!!!
I will definitely keep you all informed. If I get the job I'm sure there will be a post about it on the forum!
aww thats such a sweet story ivy, and smjmekg i hope you get the job!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep us informed :)
hi smjmekg,
Let god be with you and help you in this essential situation. Throw everything from your mind, prepare well for the interview. Leave the rest . Keep your mind free, because you are carring a beauty inside you.
I can understand power woes...when I was pregnant with Grey and we were still living in the old apartment, the apartment complex had a policy that if your power got shut off for nonpayment you were immediately evicted. stupid, right?
well ours was about to be turned off for a $136 payment that we were going to be getting THE NEXT DAY...so I call and the guy was like I'm sorry you're not eligible for a payment extension..so I broke down in tears telling him how I was pregnant and had a 1 1/2 year old and I just desperately needed a break...and he goes "well....hold on a second. This is against policy but I swear that im going to help you somehow." so he goes to talk to his manager and comes back 10 minutes later (i'm sitting here shaking and crying on the phone thinking he's not going to be able to do anything) and he goes "Miss Ivy you'd better be good for your word because I just got my manager to agree to extend your payment a few more days...but he says it's on MY head if you don't pay it...but just take a deep breath they won't be turning your electric off yet." and I just cried for like 5 minutes thanking him and promising I would pay it on time.
well the pay day rolls around and I pay it and then I call and ask to speak to him and I was like "you were the miracle I needed...I can't tell you what a difference your gesture made in my life, thank you." and he got a little teary-eyed and said "Thanks for letting me know what it meant...I would've lost my job if you hadn't paid, but it was worth it."
amazing, isn't it? I've had people NOT care before when we got our power shut off in other apartments...but it was pretty special to meet someone who cared.
work dust for you Brinny!!!
It must be electric company ruin ppls lives day!
My DB ex wife couldn't pay her bills before she commited suicide and my DB wasn't living with her when the one bill was due but it was under his name. Well bc she cldnt pay for the house it was forclosed on and bought by her ex a week into that bill. The man who bought the house didn't change the elec over till it was shut off. So that month bill where the elec was in his name but the house bought by someone else a week in of 200 we have to pay! We flipped out said they didn't care it was in his name he shoulda cancelled it! He didn't even know the house was being bought or foreclosed or anything bc he hadn't lived there in a month!
And when we told them we would look into it theu told us they'd shut our power (Which is in a different house and under MY name) off! If we didn't come down there that day and pay his! Well once we had that figured out they said they'd put ours in my name once I made the deposit! Which I had given them the WEEK befoe and is how this all started! I was p*ssed! I called and b*itched um out and got a call 10 mins later saying "oh we found that recipt!"
Those ppl must enjoy making ppls lives miserable all that power has gone to their heads!
Holy cr@p!! That's freakin ridiculous! How the h-e-l-l do they get away with it?
I'm sending you LOTS and LOTS of work dust! I freaking hate electric companies they have a monopoly on everything and charge ridiculous fees and there isn't anything you can do because they have zones. A couple of months ago our electric came it at like almost $400 for the month so we called and asked if we could pay 1/2 one week and 1/2 the next week and they said it would be ok. The next week our electric gets shut off. I flip and call them and they said that after we made the first payment we needed to notify them. Umm.... what? Didn't calling in the first place before we made the payment count? Nope. So they charged us a $25 dollar disconnect fee, a $75 dollar reconnect fee and a $300 dollar extra deposit. They are freaking unbelievable.
Yeah, and the weird thing is I have USAA, for those who don't know about it...USAA is awesome! They're the best bank I know of, but I think they're only military or military and DOD. I'm gonna go double check that charge...that doesn't really sound right.
Sending you tons of Work Dust, I really hope you get the job. Sounds like it would help alot! Ya thats weird they would just shut that off with out any notice. Your bank is charging you for a returned check? Thats so dumb. I really hope once again that it all works out for you.. Lots lots and lots more work dust for you!!!
