Thank you all for replying, I wasn't sure if the pack and play was intended to be used during the day while under supervision or could be used through out the night.
I have a mini pack-n-play in my room, and she has a regular crib in her room. She'll be with me in the pack-n-play the first couple of months, I'm breastfeeding so it's a lot more convenient, and I just don't want her that far away from me in the beginning.
I used a pack n play for both my boys. My bf doesn't want to for this pregnancy and wants a regular crib. I told him I'm still using it if I need a c-section bc I'm not bending over the rail of a crib with a sore belly, so we compromised..but if you decided to use that in your room until baby slept through the night or you stopped breast feeding and wanted to use the reg crib in the other room, there'd be no harm in it.
Does your pack n play (playpen) have a newborn attachment? We used that for my son after he was born. He is now 16 months and still naps in his pack n play (without the newborn attachment of course).
I used the pack and play with my son as a newborn I had the sleeper in it do he wouldn't roll over and its just a lot easier than worrying if the bumpers are gonna cause harm to your child....once baby begins crawling I took the top part out so he couldn't crawl out and hurt himself but its completely up to you
