Worried mom

On 8/14 We had our ultrasound where we learned we are having a beautiful little girl. Once the ultrasound tech finished, she said she needed to take everything to the doctor to look over before we left. We waited about 20 min and finally a doctor came in who introduced himself as a high risk doctor. He began to tell us that our baby looked perfect, except there were some issues with her heart. The aorta valve is larger than the pulmonary valve (it's supposed to be reversed) which causes no issues in the womb but when born it means that she will not be getting enough oxygen in her blood and can lead to all kinds of issues resulting in death. He said that 75% of babies who show this end up correcting it themselves before birth, but if not the baby will need surgery when born to fix it. Now to me 75% is not a high percentage for something like this. I go back on 9/24 for another ultrasound to have her heart checked again. At that time I will 25 weeks. Needless to say I'm scared. My last pregnancy was a late-term miscarriage and my husband and I have been scared through this whole pregnancy so far. I just want to know, has anyone else experience this? I have an appointment next Friday to see my ob and I have a list of questions for her, I just want to know if anyone is or has gone through this?
Thanks in advance.

See that's one of my questions. Our first child I had completely natural except I was induced being 2 weeks late, but if it doesn't correct itself, will she have to come early and will I be able to have her naturally? I'm keeping positive until my ultrasound in a couple weeks. I don't want to stress myself out until we know for sure.

My sister had a problem with her heart too. Something about the aorta and a valve, I'm not sure. Well they planned a c section and planned heart surgery for the day after and it was this huge ordeal well it just so happened when she was born it wasnt as severe, they decided to wait a week. Then another. Fast forward 3 years later they still haven't done surgery and her heart has fixed itself and she will never require the surgery we all dreaded! Just wanted to share, you never know. Especially if this specific problem has a higher chance of fixing itself. Definitely prepare for the worst but just stay positive, it'll work out just fine either way

Thank you all for the kind words. We are trying to keep our heads high and are hoping for the best. We have our appointment on Friday so I will be talking to my doctor about everything. Feeling her kicks get stronger keeps me positive.

I personally have been through this. We are expecting a boy any time now. 38weeks 1day. When we found out we were having a boy the lady asked if we did genetic testing we said no why. She then said i have to go get the doctor. I was institly sick to my stomach.  The doctor came in and said he has a minimal heart issue.  I asked what that ment and he said that is pulmonary valve isnt closing all the way. We then had to go see a cardiologist ultrasound tech to see 100% what was happening with his heart. They are right the baby is fine while in your belly. When we went she said it wasnt that it wasnt closing all the way his wasnt opening all the way. It could change as the heart grows. When my son is born they will take him and do an ultrasound of his heart. And at that point if his heart has the issue still  they will go in and put a balloon in to open up the valve more.

I haven't personally been through this, but a friend of mine didn't even have a valve in her heart when she was born, she had open heart surgery right away to have an artificial one put in and she's still living 19 years later! I'm not sure about this specific heart condition but I'm praying for the best, and I know you and your beautiful little girl can get through this <3(:

I understand how stressful it is and how difficult it is not to worry! I'm high risk to and is so hard to not think about all the negative. But I got faith in your baby gurl. I'm sure she's going to be strong and healthy! My aunt was 36 when she had my cousin to. That's already high risk because of the age. But then the doc told her he was at risk for some sort of disease (can't remember which one) Amd be came out as healthy as can be! I know it's hard but try not to wry :)

I don't know anyone personally but I seen this happen to a lady on TV ( I love hospital shows)and they told her that baby would have to have surgery and chances of survival was slim outside the womb. So they decided to surgery but when the baby was born the issue had corrected itself so all went well. Try not to stress it won't be good for you or baby just pray about it and all will work in your favor.
