Has anyone gone through a D&C? I need help understanding please

Hello everyone i need help understand the after math of a D&C. My fiance and i were expecting with a due date of 10/21/2010 untill i woke up bleeding on 3/30/2010 at 10 weeks 5 days. we went to the er right away and was told blood work was normal and cirvex was closed, but there was no heartbeat on the us. So we went to my obgyn the next day and was told we could let it pass naturally or have a d&c, which we chose the natural option. Well on the night of 4/2/2010 i felt wet like i had pee in my pant, well it was all blood, so back to the er we went. Again they did blood work and an us which still showed no heartbeat and the fetus at only 8 weeks in size. Although my cervix was still closed and with the amount of blood and clots i was loosing they said it would be best to do an emergency D&C. We decided it was in my best intrest to have the d&c done and after they just said no sex for 2 weeks. I was never told to go back to my obgyn or anything, do i need to? We wanted this baby so bad and are wanting to ttc again soon. In which i have not been bleeding since 4/5/2010 and we have had sex the last couple days unprotected. what are my chances of concieving? As for history we have two boys ages 6 and 3 which were both healthy pregnancy. In my first pregnancy i had some spoting around 11 weeks but our son was born at 40 weeks. Then with my 2nd son everything was normal and zero complacations, except he was born at 33 weeks. If anyone has any advice please help, thank you.

Ya i have read where some say its ok to try right away and some who say to wait. this would all be so much easier if my obgyn would return my phone calss. I mean come on atleast act like you care for yur patients.

After my d&c my doctor advised me to wait 4 cycles before trying again because with this procedure, the uterine lining is taken down to a very low level.  He told me to try after 2 cycles with a natural m/c. I know women who have gotten pregnant right after a m/c both natural and d&c and everything was fine.  You might want to check with your ob, just to be sure.

OMG thank you so much for your responce. First off i want to wish u the best of luck with your pregnancy. I have not recieved any shot unless i was given it while i was knocked out for surgery. I know they asked me my blood type and since im o positive they said i did not need some shot. I have called my obgyn like 3 times this last week and have not get a return call and its pissing me off. We really want atleast one more baby to complete our family like ive said before. By my own calculations today is 14 days from when i had the d&c and 18 days from when i started bleeding. In which we first had sex again about 6 days ago...i hope it works out the way we want.

First off, I'm sorry for your lost. I've never had a D and c,, but my friend had one and she said after they do it you get pregnant pretty soon afterwards because it cleans you out. She told me of a lady who also had one and they were pregnant again within a month. Did they give you the rhogam shot? I had to get that when I miscarriaged at 5 weeks and 3 days last year...(I'm pregnant again) I got pregnant like 5 or 6 months later....This pregnancy has been complicated also...I'm currently in the hospital because my water broke at 28 and 4 days...I have to stay here a while.

From what I have heard about D and C, you have a good chance of conceiving again and possibly soon..I looked around and alot of people say you can get pregnant withing like 2 weeks to 1 month of miscarrying..Goodluck to you and your family. I hope it all works out well for you.
