Should I assume I am pregnant?

I have been on the pill since April 2008. I recently went off the pill, my last pack was finished by the end of Decmber 2008. I had a normal peroid starting Jan. 23rd 2009 and according to most websites that I have checked I have a high chance of getting pregnant Feb. 4th-12th 2009. I had sex with my husband on Feb. 7th 2009 and I am wondering how high our chances are of being pregnant considering it has only been a month that I have been off birth control. I was planning on going back on birth control but now I am wondering if I should wait to see if I get a period before I start to take it again. If I am pregnant I wouldn't want to be doing anything to hurt our child (ex. drinking, tanning, the pill) and I have managed to get myself pretty paronid in the past two days (it was only two days ago that we had sex and I don't have any body changes.) I thought you had to be off birth control longer to concive but I am unsure. Should I live my life as if I am pregnant for the next two weeks just in case?

these aren't accurate indicaions of pregnancy as they're often symptoms of other things. Sorry honey, it really is a case of wait and see

Thanks to all of you for the help. I will be treating my body as if a baby is in it for the next week or so until it is time to take a test.

I am curious... when is it possible for signs of pregnancy to show? I mean the morning sickness, breast tenderness and all of that. How soon after having sex will that stuff start to show up if I am in fact pregnant.

It has been 3 days now since we had sex and I honestly have not experienced those signs (other than me being stressed, thinking about them... and THEN thinking my stomach hurts lol)

Its possible to get pregnant, although generally takes a while after coming of the pill.but certainly possible,I think you will find most women on here treat them selfs as being pregnant during the 2 week wait.so skip the booze..not sure about the tanning.coffee little as possible.2 cups a day be fine.dont drive yourself mad though, because if the test is negative, you will be heartbroken, take each day as it comes, look after yourself, and your body will look after your little one if you concieved, good luck.

So I am right to carry on as if I coud be pregnant until it is time to take a test? I just don't know what most women do... I don't mean to sound careless but I am 22, if I meet up with my girlfriends for a drink this week I should skip the drink part to be safe, right? Should I also cut out my morning coffee and going tanning? I feel so worried about hurting our "maybe baby" already... and I did have coffee today. Was that a huge mistake?

We were not planning on getting pregnant but if I am I will be thrilled and I don't want to harm our baby. I know I seem to be freaking out... but how do women handle these things in the begining? I'm sure not every mother assumes she is pregnant the day after see as has sex... so if she is in fact pregnant has she cause damage to her child in the time she didn't know she was pregnant?

Some people get pregnant on the pill. ( Like myself) So if they can get pregnant on the pill you get pregnant off the pill even if a little while. I have ment a few girls on these boreds that got lucky and got pregnant there first month or second of being off the pill. The were trying. So it can happen.
