How do you know of your dialated if you haven't gone into labour?how early can this happen before labor?does it happen like days before you go in?i always thought you dialated like maybe an hour or two before going into labour-I'm confused now.....

You can have sex if you are dilated but not if your water breaks.

Yes you can have sex while dilated, you just can't have sex if you loose your mucus plug.

I have been wondering the same thing. I'm 36+3 and have had so much pressure and cramping but doc won't check me til next week. Is it safe to have sex if your dialated?

You can't really tell if you're dilated. Your doctor can check when you go into the office. You can be dilated for weeks before labor starts, or it can happen quickly. Everytime is different.
