Hersey Chocolates has been changed!

Okay so the last few days I have seen on the news that Herseys has changed a main ingredent in their candy and with Halloween coming up I thought I would post this.  They took out the cocoa butter and replaced it with vegetable oil... yea I felt ripped off.  So I decided any excuss to eat my favorite milk duds was enough for me so I tired the new ones and they are not at all the same.  The chocolate covering doesnt even taste like chocolate and it tastes oily and I am very sad by this.  I would much rather pay more for the good ol chocolate than pay the same for gross chocolate.  There are 4 candies that they left the same; Hersey Chocolate Bar, Almond Joy, Recese (sp?), and Kisses.

It was on the TODAY show and everything.  It is deffinatly true and you can look at the box and tell the difference.  So sorry you don't believe it... but I don't think it would be on like 3 different news channels and everything if it wasn't!  Look at boxes... they have changed it to say something diferent because it isn't "milk" chocolate anymore!

Well I don't believe this because I did a google search and found nothing relating to replacing cocoa butter. If it was on the news it would be in their newsroom (http://www.thehersheycompany.com/news/) and it is not, and on their website if you go to the chocolate section of thehersheycompany(dot)com it doesnt say anything about it, in fact it still lists cocoa butter as one of the main ingrediants!

I will say that being pregnant, chocolate tastes a WHOLE lot different - but don't believe all the hype without getting reliable information first. Maybe the poster could tell us what news sites she heard this on or read about it?

Oh I know I was so sad!  I love Milk Duds and would eat them all the time but now they just don't taste the same.  I guess it's a good thing that they at least left a couple of the favorites alone but still.  The part I hate is they tried to pull a fast one by not telling anyone and on the boxes now it will no longer say "milk" chocolate because they legaly can't since there is no cocoa butter.  : (

THat is gross and sad.  Is there someway to petition them to change stuff back?  Kids need real chocolate, not artificial stuff.  :(
