I would class my period as 4-8 days heavy
Mine lasts 6-8 days and I use 4-5 tampons (sp?) a day, and normally 6 on the first day. There isn't really a 'norm'. Yours sound just fine.
I am generaly around 3 days maybe 4 with very light spotting. I have never been a heavy bleeder. When ttc #3 my docotr informed me that because my AF was so light it was an indication that I wasnt ovulating. It took almost 2years to get pregnant when our first 2 children it happened the first or second month., but then again even when I got pregnant with my first 2 so easily my periods were really light. I know several woman whos AF last a week and I cant imagine, but it is normal:)
the 1st day of mine is light then the 2nd and 3rd even sometimes the 4th is heavy but 5 and 6 are light
i think all the ladies who only have a few days bleeding are very lucky lol mine tend to be about 6days long, first 4days using super tampons changing every hr then tails off (sorry for the graphics lol)
7 days, light the first day then heavy day 2-6, 7th day light.
Mine are usually 5 days. Never go over that. They start out at bout medium. Then go heavy with out clots for a day then heavy with clots for a day- day and a half then brown on the last day.
Ahhh thanks for all your responses :-) crazy how different everyone is, I just hate how the normal thing is only normal for that group of people...
Mine are about 5 or 6 days, first 2 days really heavy and the last couple days are light.. sometimes my period will even end for a couple days, then il get some spotting the next day or two after it ends, drives me insane.. I hate always worrying about what Im wearing and starting my period,. sometimes if Im wearing something really nice and going out, ill wear a tampon just incase, sounds crazy I know.. lol...
My periods would be two weeks long with extra heavy bleeding. I haven't had a period since boot camp. I would go through 6 super Kotex tampons and overnight pads during the day. I had to sleep with and hourly alarm so that I would ruin my last set of sheets.
I bleed like a stuck pig for 2/3-4 days...literally I fill a pad every hour or two hours, and at night no matter how big the pad is I always leak out despite getting up several times a night to change it. But it starts abruptly..bleeds like crazy...then stops after only a few days. I always feel weak and shaky during my period and my OB says that my iron levels drop a lot during this time (we've monitored it before because i bleed so very much) and I have to go to the hospital if my periods last more than 5 days...it really stinks. and by bleed like a stuck pig I mean yes fill up pads but when I go to the bathroom (sorry tmi) the water is so filled with blood you can't see the bottom and I literally (sorry EXTRA tmi) have blood dripping while I'm wiping..I have to take iron supplements in the few days leading up to, during, and a few days after my period every month. My OB says my shorter heavier periods are due to the fact that I also have shorter cycles- average 24 days, and that I'm very fertile (2 babies conceived first month trying and 2 m/c conceived while on B/c). I dunno if it's all connected like he says, but it seems likely.
He also said that on the months that I bleed heavier it's possible I released more than one egg but it's a theory that's being studied and isn't proven yet...I thought that was interesting.
my first day is light, then heavy for 3 days, then back to light for the last day or 2.
How long would a normal cycle last before having to get worried or speaking to the docs? My cycles last any where between 38 - 42 days - is this normal?
yes its normal. i would have periods that were 5-7 days and the first days it was light then got realllllly heavy for a couple then got light towards the end..and my cycles were 30-34 days apart and i have a friend whose cycles are 44 days apart..every woman is different.
Wow, so I guess there's no norm, everyone is different and that's normal for them, all this stuff they tell us about if u have clots get checked, if your last longer than 5 days it's not normal. When realistically everyone is different....... Thanks for all your responses, anyone else that reads this please comment, love learning about other people and how unique everyone is :-)
That's interesting. I weigh 94lbs but I've never been more then that, Im very petite, so not I'll or aneroxic...... But my periods are heavy I feel and I have clots :-( my mum is a twin and I always thought maybe I have heavy periods due to the release of multiple eggs..... But not having any luck so I'm probably wrong x
I usually have 1 light day, 2-3 heavy days and 1-2 light days. At one point I was down to 3 very light days and I knew that wasn't right for me. That was my my first clue that something was up. As long as your periods are fairly normal and regular for YOU, I think you should be just fine. :) Also, mine have been clotty from time to time...I think that is pretty normal for many of us too.
