How many diapers should you have before baby arrives?

Okay i think im probably the only soon to be mother that has 3 bags of diapers. Two are for new born and the other one is stage 1. Im thinking that i might need more diapers. Does anyone think that i need more? If so please help me because im a little worried that i might not have enough. And i have 5 weeks left till little princess comes to join our family. Thanks all!

would say dont stock up but everyones tell you too.

its likely to be a waist. my son was born 8lbs 1 ounce. we had once hudge box of newborns and he grew out of that size VERY quickly since he was already a big boy. size 1 he was in for a good amount of time. size 2....fleww by quickly.

theres not really any point in stockin up on diapers. start out with a box of newborns and a box of size 1. and go from there. its not like you will never be able to get diapers ever again and you will find that you will be waisting boxes of diapers by stocking up.

you might not like the brand you decied to blow 100 bucks on
you have no idea how big your child truly is going to be and you dont kno how fast they will grow and change diaper sizes

My son wore newborns until he was 3 months old.... so you never know. I would suggest stocking up on size one though...

Costco has Huggies starting from size one and up. I think a box of size ones costs $30 and has 200 diapers in it. Those usually last a month

I would say you are good for about a month!

I guess it also depends on how big a pack is...we got two packs of new born that were each like 92 diapers/pack/box...and we got two packs of size one...can't remember how many were in each box...they are at my mom's house because she is the one that bought them for us...BUT I have heard 10 a day is a good rule of thumb!

Well, my baby is almost 1 month old, and one pack lasts 2-3 days...IIve used like 10 packs already! Im exclusively brestfeeding, so all they do is eat and get their diapers dirty!

I agree...STOCK UP!!!!!!  We were in stage 1 longer than newborn so maybe buy a few more packs of those.  It's a pain to have to make those "special" trips for diapers/formula/milk...so if you can buy them now, go for it!  The ONLY thing I can think might be a problem with buying toooo many is if you decide you don't like a specific brand then you're stuck with them.  :)

You'll go through 10 per day if you're breastfeeding...so add em' all up and do the math.

I've never even come close to running out of diapers and my son is 2+ years old. If you're doing a brand name (pampers, huggies, luvs), they typically rotate every 3-4 weeks on sale. For instance, I use Luvs and they're on a good sale at Target about once per month, so I buy about 5-6 weeks worth at a time to save money. Go to a bulk store if you have one near you...

Well, I was stocked for seriously 6 months with diapers and 4 months with wipes. Everyone at my shower was asked to bring a pack with them.
I think 3 is fine but it is really nice to not have to run to the store when you have a new baby so you may want to get more.
