How many ultrasounds?

i have only had 2. One at 10 weeks and the second at 20 weeks. I think my insurance only covers two 2d :( so now I just get to wait until the end of January to meet my boy. How many were you ladies allowed? Does anyone know a rough estimate of an additional u/s out of pocket?

At first I just got one each month.then I paid for one 3d. But I have high blood pressure and am considered high risk so the past 6 weeks I have gotten at least two each week so they can check my fluid and the umbilical cord. So ive gotten well over 15 ultrasounds.but just because of being high risk.

I'm in Canada, so anything my doctor orders is covered, but we still only get two, unless we're high risk or something is wrong. We get 12 Weeks, and 18. You can book a 3D private ultrasound though for later in your pregnancy and it isn't very expensive

my insurance only covers 1. however, I am at high risk with this pregnancy and so I have had 8 so far. I'm scared to get the bills.. the places I went to just did them in 2D and 3D, I didn't have to ask.

I've gotten 2 then they told me that they don't do ultra sounds after 14 weeks, but my insurance covers as many as I need.  Wish they would have told me this before I chose them as my doctors, now I just don't feel comfortable changing just because of ultrasounds.  But they did say they were going to call me right after my last a point mentioned to schedule me for my 20 week one with someone else but they never did, that was almost three weeks ago

I'm 30wks, high risk, and have had 8 so far but I am in Australia where it's a bit different. I've only had to pay out of pocket expenses on 2 and that was because my dr ordered 3D scans to get a 2nd opinion. The 3D scans were really expensive, about $320, but we got like $200 of that back from the government.

Most people get few ultrasounds unless something is wrong. If you have a Lavie in your town they do free ultrasounds so if your doctor won't do anymore try giving them a call and talk to them about it.

It all depends on how many your insurance covers... I've had 2 and going in a little over a week to get my last one.
