How much caffeine is too much???

I will be 6 weeks pregnant Monday.  I love to drink Lipton Diet Green Tea with Citrus.  I was reading and it has 11mg of caffeine per 8oz serving and the bottle I drink is 16.9oz.  I only drink one a day and water with lemon with everything else.  Is this too much?  I've began reading my material the doctor's office gave me and I read where your hsould cut out caffeine all together, but have been told by other people that you should limit your consumption?  What do I do?

Like everyone else said...doctors say 1 cup of Caffeine per day is okay but if you can eliminate it from your diet, that's even better. One of my friends drank tons of coffee throughout her entire Pregnancy and her baby was perfectly fine, but on the other hand you don't want to take any chances!
When I got Pregnant, I didn't even have the want for a cup of Coffee and now that I'm not Pregnant, I drink it like it's my job-soo weird! But if you must have it, 1 cup a day is fine.
Good Luck & Congrats!

Just thought you may be interested in reading this new study that was just released last month. I guess it's your call on the caffeine intake as long as it is very limited.

Another thing you should know, is that if you are drinking Diet Iced Tea the artificial sweetener (aspartame) in these diet drinks is also something you want to cut back on. I for one was advised to not have artificial sweeteners at all by my doctor although your doctor may feel it is okay in moderation. I was ask your doctor what he/she feels about this and then make a decision. Perhaps it would be better for you to have the non Diet version while pregnant, after all, you should not be cutting calories during pregnancy by any means.

Thanks ladies.  I have cut out all caffeine, except for this Diet Green Tea.  I used to be a big coffee drinker and thought I'd have withdrawals when I started to get pregnant, but I haven't had a cup of coffee since the last of November, when we were getting into the swing of TTC and I'm okay with that.  I don't drink any other kind of tea or soft drinks.  I usually drink one Green Tea and then water the rest of the day.  So, I should be okay. I may limit my intake to maybe one Green Tea a week or something.  Thanks again.

Pregnant women are alotted 300mg. a day, the equivalent to 1 cup coffee or 2 sodas. Tea doesn't have much caffiene, but I still limit myself. I stick to 2 cups soda a day OR 1 small cup coffee (well...mostly creme haha)

I had to cut it out almost entirely, but only because I'm bad at limiting myself. (It's so much easier to be all or nothing!) I know caffeine is one of those things that the docs keep going back and forth on, and right now we happen to be in a "no caffeine" swing of things. I honestly just can't imagine that 22mg of caffeine a day is going to hurt anything. I know plenty of people who didn't even cut back on their consumption and they were fine. I think it's just whatever you feel comfortable with.

My midwife told me one cup of caffeine a day is fine. Whether that is coffee or soda, she said it's fine. I rarely do that, I drink mostly water, but once in awhile it's nice to go to starbucks for a treat! I am due for one soon....lol. =)

my doc told me no more than 300mg a day.  but i will admit that w/ all the happenings in our everyday lives there are days when i will consume more...  :(  alot of people are able to competely eliminate it from their diet but i am not one of those people!!!

I've read in most cases it's ok to drink the amount of 1 cup of coffee a day but me personally I'm a total scaredy cat so I cut it out all together I want no chances of MC
