How to prevent ripping?

Stitches were the worst part of labor and pregnancy combined, I know they say there are exercises or techniques to help prevent tears. Please tell me how! I ripped with my son 15 months  ago and it will still hurt after sex so I feel more than likely to rip this time around. Which blows so I want to prepare.

I read that right when you feel babys head coming dont push anymore. Relax and let thecontractions push the baby the rest of the way.

They cut me with my first son 18 months ago and it healed pretty nice. Itched for a while but no pain at all after at least 6 months.  I'm terrified to rip!!

You are more likely to tear more when you receive pitocin or an epidural. But as doulamommy said massages to the perinium are nice :)

Massage your perinium with lube or extra virgin olive oil. Do this at least once a week. My hubby and I incorporated it into our foreplay. I also tore horribly bad with my daughter sixteen months ago and don't ever want to tear again. Kegals can help as well, but massage is vital!
