why does this happen

I am 51/2 weeks pregnant with twins...Yesterday I had my first ultrasound since it was through IVF...ultrasound confirmed twins in the uterus, yolk sacs, neural tube the whole 9 yards, my cervix was good and uterus measured well. Last night I began to bleed, red no clots, no real cramps {other then being very constipated} I only saw it on the toilet paper. It stopped after 4 hours or so. went today to get checked and the babies were still there and he said they actually grew very nicely from the measurements yesterday. No heartbeats yet but said it was a tad early for it to pick up. He saw no real cause for concern saying he has many pts with similar issues and goes away after the 1st trimester. Any reasons you know it would happen? how normal is it? how can you tell if you are cramping or just constipated or gassy?

have you had intercourse lately?  Intercourse can sometimes lead to bleeding in pregnancy espically this early! Congratz on the twins and I hope you have a great 9 months!
