I passed out in Walmart

I woke up this morning and wanted to go to Walmart to copy some ultrasound pics to send to my mom. I thought about eating something before leaving but decided not to because Walmart is like 2 minutes away from my house and I just didnt think it was going to take very long. When I was at the picture machine making prints I started to feel extremely dizzy, lightheaded, and nauseous. Then I started to wobble back and force and my legs felt weak. I knew I was going to pass out. I bent over the machine and held on to it and took deep breathe but next thing I knew the people at Walmart were helping me up!!

I then managed to get to my car and sat there for 1/2 an hour until I felt good enough to drive myself home. Does anyone have an idea why this happened? Should I go to the doctor?

I'm home now, I ate some soup and toast. I learned my lesson about eating before leaving the house. I'm still dizzy. And I should also mention, early this morning - around 5 or 6 am - I woke up with bad cramps. I had a dream I was going into labor and woke up to what I guess is BH contractions? I'm wondering if the cramping and the fainting spell have anything to do with one another?

Should I make an appointment?

hanacabana~ maybe it's a combo of Blood Pressure and Low blood sugar?
It would really make since, except it happens to me when I feel warm, even a little warm for more than a few minutes. I get flushed then Pale. it's crazy, but luckily hasn't happened in a few weeks.

I get EXACTLY the same thing (Im 20 weeks today). I find that especially when i am in places like supermarkets, or renting moving, at the bank etc i will get so dizzy and ill i will almost pass out. The one time i did was in a shopping centre line at about 15 weeks when i skipped breaky. I went in there while waiting for a bus specifically for water because i knew i was dehydrated and i woke up on the floor with people callind for help. It always seems to be in places where there is air con and dawdling. I told my doctor (gp) and he didnt even blink. Said it was intirely due to blood pressure and the excess blood we are puching around. Told me to eat well, drink well and eatr a lot of salt. Doesnt really explain a lot as it can be v. scary. As i dont drive and i have to take public transport everywhere i opt not to go anywhere alone anymore just incase. Also id advise if you do get the same feelings again REGARDLESS of where you are SIT DOWN. I have sat down in isles on buses, in the middle of shopping centre floors anywhere. And if you are alone just ask someone near you to get uyou some water or a sugary drink. People are surprising nice.

You did this because your blood sugar was low. You need to eat a snack every few hrs. I delt with hypoglycemia (the technical name) for months when my weight hit 190, then when I dropped about 20lbs it stopped, however when I got pregnant I've had several episodes. It's lots faster now tho.
used to be I'd get shakey and nauseaus, and dizzy. the shaky nauseasness would last about 1/2hr before i'd finally start blacking out.

when this happens EAT something and drink cold water.

Now tho, since i"m pg. it happens within about 5-10min time from start to finish. I've learned as soon as I get lightheaded to sit and have cold water and a piece of candy. I feel better an not shaky within 5 min. then all better in 20min.

This is from personal experience. research Hypoglycemia online and youll learn that Pregnant women are more suseptible to it.

It was scary! I called and made an appointment for monday so hopefully we will get things figured out. But standing causes problems. I think its because I'm in the third trimester

Riot- I had problems eating more too. I tend to want to act like my regular non-pregnant self but that's not good! Snacking throughout the day helps.. And I will NEVER leave the house to run errands without having breakfast again thats for sure!

dude, that's crazy!
i just had an appt last friday and i told him about my dizzy spells.  i feel some level of dizziness/ lightheadedness everyday, but sometimes its more severe.  i compared it to being on the ride called the gravitron and my head is spinning so hard that i feel like i can't pick it up off my pillow.  he told me to go to the lab and get my blood count checked and that i might need to see my primary physician about it.
i've never actually passed out though... that's scary!  i almost did during my 2nd pregnancy and went to the hospital and they told me i was severely dehydrated.
i would definately get checked!

I get dizzy every now n then too since I've been pregnant.
I never knew why.

But I read the other day that since our circulatory system has enlarged to provide for mother and baby, it can cause shortness of breath, dizzy spells, and even fainting.

They said simple things like, standing in line, or standing and cooking... just standing still for even just 5 minutes can make us dizzy or feel outta breath.

I've experienced that plenty of times.

And I'm sure you not eating didn't help.

I'm 14w4d now, and I'm STILL trying to get into a goo eating habbit.
Before I got preggo I only ate medium sized meals twice a day, and would ignore my hunger if I did get hungry cuz I was afraid of getting any bigger than I was.
And now I still sometimes ignore my hunger pains and not even know it till the point where I'm so hungry I'm nauseated.
I'm getting better about eating frequently.
And I do notice that I get VERY dizzy if I don't eat either breakfast or dinner ontime.
So I think you just shouldn't go without breakfast cuz that seems to  be your problem. lol

I would.....although I know that some get dizzy during pregnancy for no good reason at all...It may have been your blood pressure, in which case, you'd need careful monitoring......It certainly can't hurt to get a quick check up just to make sure!
