HELP! Mucus Plug.... what dose it look like?

How can I tell if I'm loosing my mucus plug?  And how long dose it take to loose it before labor begins?

Today when I wiped there was a streak of "snot like" stuff.. ( Sorry for the reference...that's the only way I know to describe it. ) It wasn't much at all.  There was no blood either.  Should I be worried?  I still have 52 days til my due date!  I'm 32 weeks an 5 days.  He has been very active today... I'm really worried.  So please help if you can.  Anita

I slowly lost mine for about 2 months, I went into labor about a week after the final chunk came out.

lol your all good girl..i was thinking i was going to go into labour sence i was 25 weeks on!! hahahah but i went over due! MAGINE THAT!! lol..and i was losing that stuff from about 28 weeks on maby sooner...didnt lose the whole thing until i was 37 1/2 weeks!!! But anywho keep us posted but i think your midwife is right..you need to drink more for you and your baby!!! :) The more the better!! Good luck hun....and your getting there so dont sweat it!!

The mid wife just called me back and said that I don't need to go to the ER unless it becomes painful.  She asked me home much water I have had to drink, I told her that I have drank a coke and juice today.  She said that it sounds like I low on fluids and I need to drink LOTS of water an rest.  She said that I'm feeling pressure because I need to drink more water.  I'll keep you posted.

I called my OBGYN office an the mid-wife is going to call me back.  I'm having that "about to get your period" feeling.  Its not painful though.  Just a little pressure.  I'm really worried.  My baby is moving good so I know hes ok... but I have a feeling I will not make it to my due date. Should I go to the ER being I have not been.     Anita

its fine u dont have to worry untill it looks like "snotty stuff" w blood in it lol i have been loosing mines since like 28 wks and im 36w3d so the closer u get to due the more ull loose

It's normal to get discharge throughout your pregnancy and it seems to just get worse the further along you are (at least I've noticed that). When I was losing my mucus plug, I was 36 weeks, but the "snotty" stuff was tinged with blood. I didn't give birth until I was 38 weeks. The plug will rebuild itself. So if it's not tinged with blood, or doesn't have an odor to it and it's clear, you should be fine! If you are really worried give your doc a call and double check. =)
