I think my worst fear came true :(

I posted something about baby's head in the cervix the other day. Well last night I started having contractions and still am having them this morning :( I'm 34 weeks exactly today. Last night my husband and I had sex for the first time in a week or more and it felt really weird when he went in. Like it kind of hurt but felt like he was ripping my skin. He's not a large man so IDK why that was like that. Any ideas?

Hopefully so because I just found out that my Dr isn't even in town :( I had.him deliver my first two and.I really don't want someone else delivering this one!

Sorry I guess my thing didn't load yalls answers. And because like I said they weren't hard contractions they felt like Braxton Hicks contractions.
My mother inlaw is almost back in town so I'm gonna wait til she gets here and see what the Dr says

Call your doctor asap. If you are going into labor they may give you a shot to try to stop it from progressing.

Not trying to be rude at all-american but why on earth would you have sex when you're already having contractions? & like another poster said, do not ever try to check your own cervix, see your dr.

I read that a baby can be active before labor, or the baby can slow down activity before labor. It just all depends on the baby. Have you called the doctor, or your local Labor and delivery ward at the hospital?

Is baby active before labor starts? Or can he be?

We haven't had sex in awhile before last night and I had already been having contractions.
And I would call an ambulance but my worry is that I have my 1yr and don't know anyone who can keep him for me. I hate this!

You can always call an ambulance if they start to get closer to gether. At least call the DR office and let them know you are having contractions so they are aware. They may want you to go to the hospital right away and again your only option is by ambulance if you cant get ahold of anyone.

I am having inconsistent contractions and my husband is unreachable right NW and my mother inlaw and both of my close friends all three are outta town the next closest person to.me is my grandmother inlaw and she's an hour away. So I guess I'm gonna wait until my husband gets off unless it gets really bad. I've been in labor before with both of my first babies (but had C-Sections) but neither time it was like this at all! I'm having dull cramps like menstrual cramps but then also having hard contractions. I stood up earlier and was having some pressure down in that area

Sorry meant to add, even if he is engaged with your cervix he may still not come for months.  My second child stayed engaged with his head buried too far into my cervix for a clear measurement from 30-39 1/2 weeks when I was induced for medical reasons. Good news is, out of three babies, that was my shortest, easiest, least complicated labor with the fastest recovery. So maybe it will work out like that for you too :).

If you think you are running the risk of preterm labor do NOT check your own cervix as you can irritate it or cause an infection and then REALLY end up in labor.  I would call my doctor if you're worried but it's normal for sex to feel different and sometimes more painful from all the swelling in the third trimester.

They said they couldn't measure it because they couldn't even see it with an ultrasound cause my sons head was so far down in it. That's why I'm a little concerned he'll be trying to come early.

Well almost any time u see an internal look at a pregnant woman it will have a picture of where the cervix is. It feels a bit hard and round. You could ask your hubby to feel with his fingers and see if it feels different?
