No, i finally found my papers, the one I was talking about is cervidil, it is FDA approved and the only side effects are mild amd uncommon but include nasuea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, and diarreah
It could be hours or even days. It all depends on your body and what method works
Everyone is different but i was induced with my first. I wasnt dialated and my cervix wasnt thinned out, i went in to be induced on 1/27/10 at 7am and gave birth on 1/28/10 at 4:21pm:)
Pitocen is a synthetic version of the hormone oxitocen which causes contractions. If the pill starts with a "c" it's probably Cytotec which is a very dangerous method of induction (albeit effective). Do some research. If you need more induction info you can check on my profile. I have some basic info under journals.
But everyone is different
I got induced yesterday, I got the pill then 4 hours later started pitocin, about 30 mins later they broke my water. I was still only 1 cm at this point. Then 5 hours later I was holding my baby girl :) so in total it was about 10 hours.
First you will be given a pill like thing that starts with a 'c' but i cannot remember the name. It is placed in your vagina to help thin your cervix amd can cause contractions. After 12 hours they will remove it and start the pitocen. After that it all depends on your body
Everyone is different. Good luck!!!(:
I'm not dialating or anything
