Really worried about alcohol intake in pregnancy

I have two children and in both their pregnancy's I was of the belief that 1-2 glasses of wine/alcohol every now and then was acceptable.  Both children are fine, bright little darlings.

Now this pregnancy I started out the same and have had a few occasions where I've had one or two glasses of red wine but recently I've started to notice that experts are recommending NO alcohol to be ok!  It's really got me petrified!  What if I've injured my baby.  I've had maybe 5 occasions where I've had two glasses of red win!  Now I'm feeling out of my skin with worry!  I didn't drink before 13 weeks, which was what I'd always believed was the greater risk period, but now I'm freaking out!

I can't believe I may have injured my baby!  Honestly, it's not that I figured it was entirely harmless and have always been conscious of quantity, but like many things, a little now and then wouldn't do any harm!

I just wish I could curl up and die!  :(

I don't believe alcohol while pregnant is acceptable at all. If you wouldn't give your baby a bottle filled with wine, don't drink it while pregnant. We all make mistakes. Your little one is probably JUST FINE so I wouldn't worry about it. But I also wouldn't have another drink either.

I drink a glass of red wine on occasion, a decent sized glass, normal sized but on a couple occasions a bit higher, not topped off though. This baby should be fine. With my son TJ I was drunk a week before I found out I was pregnant. It was new years and I got TOTALLY blitzed. he was ok. Congrats!

Oh... just wanted to add...
I had both a glass of wine, and a beer when I was pg with DS (on seperate occasions)... I also had more than a few drinks on one occasion before I knew that I was pg with him, and he is perfectly fine!
Best of Luck to you!
Its perfectly normal to worry, we all do!

I really would try not to worry too much... As long as you weren't drinking in excess or every night (which it doesn't sound that you were) I really don't think you did any harm. If you look in most of the pg books you will see (such as what to expect when expecting) that they still say that a glass of wine for celebration like aniversary, birthday, etc... is still considered acceptable. My OB has always told me the same thing. That it wouldn't hurt to have a glass of wine on a special occasion.
I think the stress is probably worse on both you and your baby than the wine. If you are still very concerned talk to you OB... I'm sure that they will give you straight information.
(((HUGS)))
Try not to be so hard on yourself... I can tell your a good mama!!!
