I'm a CNA and requires lifting at some of my clients

Is lifting bad for your pregnancy. I will have my first appointment Friday to find out how far exactly I am. But I'm 3+ weeks in my first trimester. Will this harm my baby? Should I talk to my agency and try to see if I could work with clients with less lifting even though I'm afraid that I will loose hours my baby's health is most important!

I also require lifting at my job, and my doctor told me no more then 20 pounds. I would be careful, especially in your first trimester.

That is what I have heard that it makes your uterus or something very weak..and that it was not good for your first trimester I looked it up and I haven't found to much information on it. Thanks for the advice I'll have to speak to my doctor

I was a CNA in a hospital writing long hours and lifting in my first trimester it caused heavy bleeding I was out on a weight restriction to keep working and I ended up having my Son at 24 wks. That happened twice to me.  I have learned my lesson. I do not recommended it.  But the choice is yours.

I'm sure you will be fine. I know allot of women who do just fine. I know I'm in clinicals now so I expected to do allot of lifting but my teachers refuses to let me. Not complaining at all though. I did allot of lifting and hard work my whole first pregnancy though through work and was totally fine.

I worked in a group home during my first pregnancy. I was put on a 20lb lifting restriction in my 2nd trimester. Early on if your pregnancy is normal they probably won't put you on a restriction until you're further along. Your job will probably want a doctors note stating why and how long if you do get put on one. If it's possible try doing double lifts with another person that way you aren't getting their full weight.
