I'm scared :(

As of this early morning (3am) I started spotting! It wasn't heavy nor was it accompanied by cramps but it was a light ting. it wsan't enough to stain my pantiliner nor was it painful. I was only able to notice it after using the restroom and wiping. I am really worried. I went to my dr today and all he said is it is normal in about 50 % of pregnancies. If it is not accompanied by heavy cramping then it is normal. it seems to be going away but I am wondering if I should get a second opinion or not. I still feel very much pregnant and nauseated so I am hoping it isn't a miscarriage this time. Should I worry or just let it go? He did advise me not to have intercourse or do any heavy lifting until the threat has stopped. Does that mean there is a threat for miscarriage? Iam so confused an scared. :(

Hi all, thank you so much for your responses. I will try to relax and not think much of it until and if it gets worse. my progesterone levels were checked and are normal for my stage of pregnancy. thanks again I will keep everyone posted :)

i had 2 miscarriages in the past and the first sign for me was spotting (without cramping). I see that you are 9 weeks so you are further along than I was so hopefully it simply is nothing to worry about. I just wish someone had told me to get my progesterone levels checked so maybe i would have saved any of them.  I hope everything turns out great and you have a happy healthy 9 months.

I bled worse than a period from weeks 5-10 of my last pregnancy and never had any cramping and now have a healthy 2 1/2 year old. This pregnancy I spotted pink at maybe 8 weeks when I wiped and had some on the toilet paper. Again no cramping. I am now 23 weeks along with a beautiful healthy little girl.

Dont worry it isnt a miscarriage. miscarriages usually are painful and alot of bleeding. so if this starts happening go to hospital. when you are pregnant your cervix is more tender..so if you've have a physical exam previous to this bleeding it could be from that.. it also could be from having sex prior too. I think you will be just fine.

for some its normal, for some its not. the only proactive thing you can do is get your progesterone levels checked. some women can spot due to low progesterone which can cause a miscarriage.

how far along are you? I spotted when I was 7wks and it turned out to be from my cervix...and then again at 12wks. I'm now 34 1/2 wks with a healthy boy and no further complications, so I would definitely say unless you start heavily bleeding or have painful cramps not to worry. Any time there's bleeding during early pregnancy they call it a threatened miscarriage but unless you start bleeding heavily and cramp it's usually normal and harmless. Just keep an eye on things and go to the ER if it changes drastically but otherwise try to relax.
