Induced?

Hi everyone I'm 37+1 and basically my dad passed away yesterday. I'm scared incase I stress my baby out with the funeral ect. Can I asked to be induced to attempt to get the baby out on time for the funeral? I haven't started to plan it yet.

I can't plan nothing as we haven't got death certificate then. I know I'm getting induced around 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes I'm scared it falls on the service and I'm sorry to hear about everyone's loss x

I'm sorry for your loss. My grandfather passed away before my daughter was born. I tried to put off being induced so I could attend his memorial. I ended up delivering on my own the day of his memorial. I would hate for you to postpone your fathers service and be in the same situation. I know it's not how you want to go about it but maybe you should plan the service before being induced. Just something to think about.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I lost my brother last week and was going to ask the doctor to induce so I could travel as I live 5 hrs away from our hometown.  I couldn't bring myself to do it though. I'd say w GD they would be more inclined to say yes though. It is always worth a shot

I agree. With jasmine1670. Here in San Antonio Texas my doctor didn't want to induce me at 37weeks. She told me I would have to wait till 39 weeks.. all state are different.. best of luck to you. I'm sorry for your lost.. I was about 8months pregnant when my family got the news of my grandma.. missing for 6yr was found deceased...

My doctor will not induce before 39 weeks because of hospital protocol (unless its an emergency) but thats not to say that no doctor will do it earlier than that because each state/country/hospital has different laws and regulations that they go by. When younger the chance you should just talk to your doctor directly it won't hurt to ask even if he says no. Best of luck to you :) and sorry for your loss
