I was on medicaid in Fl. I had many scans with my 4 pregnancy but most were do to me having gd and it also didn't hurt that my mid wife has been a friend for over 10yrs:-). Your Dr should be able to order a scan to check size and position at 34-38 wks on top of the two you've had already. Atleast that's how it is here

Ugh..i really hope I get atleast one more after the anatomy scan....if not I think ill have to get a 3d/4d because 20 more weeks is too long...it was hard enough waiting this long!

She said if the doctor signs for it, it should be covered. However if you want to have a sneak peek then it won't be covered.

Here in Texas Medicaid also only covers too however if they are medically necessary they will cover more than two.. for example when I was 31 weeks I was in a car accident and needed an ultra sound insurance covered it, and at 36 weeks my doc ordered another one to make sure baby was head down and insurance covered it all together I had I believe 5 throughout my pregnancy and Medicaid covered them all since they were ordered by the doc.

I believe most insurance only cover two scans.
I'm a self pay patients and the package from my doctor only cover one scan at 20 weeks :(
But I opt to pay out of pocket for the others, run me about $50 every time. I did one at 35 weeks to make sure baby is head down and there's plenty of fluid around. Plus some place do the 3-d one now but that I'm pretty sure insurance will not cover. I think it's around $100.
