You should call your doctor. Those don't sound like the normal side effects of iron, but I could be wrong. I would call and explain what you are feeling and that you think it may be the iron. Is it possible that you might be sick? Are you drinking plenty of water?
I can't stand this.... I am miserable,, I have such terrible gas and weird cramps.. I know that it isn't anything bad and my babies are fine.. I KNOW its from the iron... What should I do I feel like crying... I am very uncomfortable :-(
Well I wonder why I am feeling so terrible from them... Very gassy...Crampy...and having to go alot ... Not constipated. Should I call my doctor and ask if I should wait it out and see if it gets better or try something else.. I only have to take one a day but I don't want to anymore :-(
I took SloFe also and it really didn't make me nauseaous nor did it constipate me. I was also slightly anemic.
i also started the slow release iron but i have to take two of them...and i am a little constipated but it isnt too bad and i dont get a tummy ache like with the other kind...the slow release is way better then the others imo.
Oh don't worry, I had my own experiences with constipation after my c-sections...so I definately know what you mean, lol! I never did have to take the iron after my girls were born. I don't know about during pregnancy, but I do know after you can take a stool softener, which may help.
girl you are so lucky....I had to take iron pills after my daughter was born and (tmi, I know, sorry, LOL) I didn't go for a week!!!!!!!!!!!! if I have to take it again after this one I am totally asking about that brand.
I had to take iron supplements during all 3 of my pregnancies. I took one called
Slow Fe. It is a slow release iron pill, and it didn't cause me any major constipation problems like I had heard about. You might want to ask your doctor about that brand.
Also be forewarned they can constipate you!!!!
I had to take iron supplements when I was pregnant with my daughter. ( I was anemic) my nurse told me to take a vitamin c pill with them as it absorbs it and helps reduce the nausea. It helped tremendous! I actually took the vitamin c gummies! :] Just a suggestion for you. :]
You're welcome! how many per day you have to take? maybe you are taking too many of them per day?? i have to take two , twice a day, its really a pain in the butt lol
Thanks so much. I also have had heartburn and acid reflux since starting them three days ago.. Nasty Little pills lol. well hopefully I will get used to them... I really hope.. I hate having these little cramps..
hey girl,
My doc told me I needed those too (just a little anemia) and I started taking them 2 weeks ago. They taste horribleeeee dont they? I don't know about the cramping, but they definitely make me nauseous and might be the cause of why I'm getting acid reflux for the first time in my life. Try eating a little something when you take the pills, but remember NO milk nor dairy produce. And be sure to move around, don't take them and lay down
