I agree with all the posts. Most chinese restaurant do use MSG but you can always request they do not put any in your food. Panda Express (american chinese food lol) does not use MSG in their foods. As for the "fried" (fried rice) part, I think in moderation should be no problem.Home made is always better and healthier but sometimes it is more convenient to order take out :) and that's fine too as long as it's not an every day thing (goes for all fast food restaurants) ;)
Make ur own fried rice its better. We always do in hawaii. White rice, oyster sauce, green onions, white onions, bacon and spam. U can look for the recipes, try hawaiian fried rice. u'll never wanna eat chinese one after.
The warning might be about the fact that it's fried, not so much that it's Chinese food. They literally fry rice, Tex-Mex rice is often fried too so I know what it takes to fry some rice and all that oil is probably not great for us in large quantities...not too healthy, it is tasty though. :D
ya it depends on the restaurant, some dont use it and some do so yes just ask for it without...
As cor the food in general, i have never heard this...
Most chinese food in restaraunts are made with MCG. You can ask them not to use it though. Some people are allergic to it so they just leave it out upon request.
Never heard that either. And I ate a lot of it when I was pregnant.
I can see too much msg could be a bad thing for a baby. The fried rice can't be bad, dr want you to eat rice. Give your dr a call and see what they say about the msg.
I have never heard of anything bad about eating Chinese food during pregnancy. I ate it with both my daughters and they both turned out fine.
