Is cramping in early pregnancy normal?

I am almost 6W pregnant and I have been having cramping really since I found out 2 weeks ago. My nurse says this is totally normal and I have looked on-line and it says cramping in 1st trimester is totally normal. I have had no spotting, but keep reading if you have cramping to call your Doctor. I also talked to my friend today who has had 2 kids and she said she never had cramps and she sounded concerned about that. They are not bad, but are very noticeable. Thanks!

I am 8 weeks pregnant and have been having period like cramps the entire time, though they are mild yet very noticeable. My doctor said this is fine as long as it is not severe cramping or is accompanied by blood. I miscarried over one year ago and remember there being continuous blood and eventually very severe cramps, but I had an ultrasound a few days ago and everything looked fine, the baby even has a heartbeat ! My doctor says every pregnancy is different and all of these cramps are probably the stretching uterus .

im so glad i found this info, my first pregnancy an the doctors said they'll check me out in another 2wks! non of my books say anything about crampin that lasts this long, i think im about 4-5 wks an jus kept thinkin for the last wk an a bit that i was finally gettin my period -i was on cerazette an only stoped in november, so was suprised to get pregnant so soon, the crampin made me think mayb it ectopic or something, but i did used to get very painful periods an this is no-where near as bad, so mayb im jus like most of u on here- crampin with no problem. i wish the books mentioned it more tho, i was really worried as wen i mentioned crampin to my mum (whos had 4 kids an 10 pregnancys altogether)  an she said 'oh ur probably fine' with that worried mother look.... but it hasnt gotten worse an no bleedin, so, hopefully, every things fine right? wish i could see the doctor now, so lame that a first timer has to wait, its just guna be 2wks of 'oh im fine' one min an' oh god wat if somethings wrong?!' the next!

HI EVERYONE!

I am 7 weeks jus about, went to the DR on monday this week, and he noted all looked good. i have however had cramping on and off, its like a twisting pinch almost on either side, and then it disappears. It is almost like a period cramp, just sudden and then it does away. It happens also when I sneeze sometimes, it gets triggered. Doc says all looks good with the baby and I go back in a few weeks. I hope everything is ok. Congrats to all the Mommy-to-BE's out there! Best of Luck to us all!
