is 19weeks to early to start buying stuff for your baby

:( well long story short I have this friend I always talk to I always tell her im ready to start shopping for my unborn son since I know his gender, & each time she say she thinks I shouldn't cause anything can happen (stillborn,etc..) is what she says I should wait until 7 or 8 months even though I told her all my test came out perfect and my o/b says my baby is perfectly fine & she still continues to throw all that stuff at me & not only does it scare me but it's like I have no clue what I should do yet cause of her "advice".
Any suggestions ?

I was shopping the day I found out. I got neutral things like bottles, diapers, and created a registry just for me to work off of.

I would wait until u find out the sex after that buy away! :) if u wait too long you will feel overwhelmed and stressed. The longer u wait the worse it gets! Im 37+3 and have a MAX of 10 days left (only a couple if labs come back abnormal) and i still dont have everything bought or set up

Yeah just ignore her. My rooms covered in blue green and white animal print right now and so many teddybear/animal sweaters and jammies. Just got to be happy and enjoy yourself!

I had some heffar try and say the same crap. To me when someone throws that i your face it's caddy and uncouth. You go shopping when you WANT to go shopping, and if she keeps saying stuff like that, you tell her to stop. That isn't right. We all worry so much throughout pregnancy as it is. Go shopping when you want, it is one of the funnest parts of pregnancy! If she is going to be a negative nancy about everything, shop and confide in someone else.

Im almost 17 weeks and started shopping already even though im high risk i dont let it stop me. Just cause people are saying stuff doesnt mean it will happen and you should just be happy and have fun getting the itty bitty baby clothes!

Stillborns are nothing to laugh about, they do happen. My 1st pregnancy ended in one at 29 weeks. It's nothing to 'lol' about.

Sorry to post that on your post kayla, but like I said when I had my son we started shopping right away, if you feel comfortable than go for it. In the end it's your and your boyfriends decisions. Good luck hun :)

1-chances of a stillborn are slim lol

2-HONESTLY, if you wait too long, youll be too tired to do it, and its not fun. your body starts to hurt...so doing it early isnt bad at all

I honestly wouldn't even consider her that close of a friend. I get that she's trying to look out for u but she doesn't need to jinx u or scare icon the process. she should be happy for you and going shopping with you. Don't let her negative ways get to you! I started buying stuff for my son the say we found out he was a boy, he's perfectly fine now and obviously wasn't a stillborn, do what you want & don't listen to negative-ness :)

I'm as far along as you are. And the same thing my mom keeps telling me to wait longer. But I just found out its a girl! So I want to buy. Its easier on my bf and I because money is tight and I'm unable to work. So buying little by little helps for us!!!

Stillbirths can happen even if you want till 9 months to get stuff. You have to plan for the best and not be unprepared waiting to see if something goes wrong.

It's an exciting time and maybe ahead doesn't understand that. I would deffo buy what you want. I'm now 26 weeks and have everything, my boys nursery will be done early Jan. If you feel comfortable go for it, your friend doesn't sound very supportive oraube she is just siper cauious, the chance of something going wrong is very small now. It's a natural process to worry but you still need to enjoy this pregnancy
