My SIL was sick her entire pregnancies (she has two kids) and she lost weight instead of gaining. Her daughter was 7 lbs 3 oz and her son was 8 lbs 12 oz or something around there (don't quote me on the exact ounces!).
The point is that you are eating (healthy), drinking plenty of water, taking your vitamins, and doing what little exercise or stretches you can. If you don't gain weight, it'll effect YOU, not the babies. They'll use up all your stored fats and nutrients. If they deplete all of it, YOU risk becoming sick, tired, etc.
You're supposed to have a higher caloric intake with twins, so just make sure you're eating some extra snacks!
Thanks so much I'm feeling better now.....I just want to make sure I give them every chance I can.
My friend is actually having her twins today, and they are each weigh 7lbs. She kept losing weight even though she was getting bigger by the day, i would worry to much about it, you still have plenty of time to pack on that weight. i am having one and actually was losing weight until my last appointment, i was 17 weeks and only gained back 3 of the 10lbs i lost. Trust me, pretty soon you gonna be wishing you werent gaining so much LOL.
I haven't really had any morning sickness but smells and thoughts do make me not want to eat certain things...I just am worried cause I know they are gaurenteed to be preemies I want them to have all the chance to get as big as they can before they decide to come out.
you should be gaining weight, espically if your pg with twins. however during the first trimester, ive heard that because of so much morning sickness etc, some women loose weight because they cant hold anything down or the smells of food make them not want to eat as much. my weight flucuated druing the first trimester. i started really gaining weight during the second trimester. i would say take up your concerns with your doctor.
