I ordered one of those dopplers from babybeat.com, it came today. I was so excited to get home and I was sooo not dissappointed either. It took me about 10 minutes but I finally found the heartbeat... 172 BPM!!! Now I can check the HB anytime I am worried. It was such a great feeling to find the HB and for it to be sooo strong. This was well worth the money it cost to rent.
Congrats on your doppler :) They are so useful to have, and its fun to listen to the baby anytime you want...we looked at renting one but ended up buying one off eBay...it worked out cheaper for us that way and it was brand new too.
Good for you...it will definitely be well worth your money for the peace of mind!
