Jaundis in babies?

What exactly is it and what causes it? Also my baby is 100% healthy and negative for it but she has a little yellowish tint to her face.

Both my sons had it. Make sure she is eating and pooping alot. Sun light and it should go down if she has it.

Yea its when the bilirubin levels are too high. It comes from the umbilical cord I think. When your baby eats it helps get it out of their system, and also being out in the sun to get vitamin D helps too. If she doesn't have it I'm not sure why she would be yellow though. How old is she?

As the previous poster said, it's a lack of vitamin d. If it's possible for you to get baby out in the sun a bit, maybe ten mins twice a day just on a short walk or just sitting on the porch with baby in your arms that's a great way to deal with it. When babies DO have full blown jaundice the hospital will put them under light therapy which is essentially the same thing except artifical sunlight

It has something to do with belli-ruben levels, I'm not 100%, I don't even know how to spell it, lol but the liver hasn't been doing a good enough job, maybe someone can explain better with accurate information, but nothing to get too concerned about unless it gets worse. The doc will just tell you to give baby some sunlight, absorb that vitamin D.
