So......I'm 19 yrs old. I lost my virginity when i was 15 then I got on birth control. (the depo). My last shot was due last November but i never got it. I hadn't takin any other birth control since. Now i have my period around the same time each month and i have unprotected sex. Does anyone know how long it can take to get pregnant after being on the depo shot for so long???

It depends on your body my sister got pregnant on the depo!!! N she was on it 7 yrs!!

That deposhot is pretty potent it can stay in your body for a while I only took it 2-3 times and it took about 6-7 months for me to get pregnant, I had regular periods too.

I was on it since I was 16 and im 21 now I got off it and got pregnant in like a year or less :) depends on your body

I started on the depo in 96 (15yrs old) and came off in 06 (25yrs old) ended up pregnant the nxt yr in Jan but I was still 25. So everyone is different.

Yea I got my period back right after the 6 months but wasn't ovulating there is a test on walgreens.com and I tracks your ovulation its like 200 for the kit you pee on the stick and put it in the machine and it reads your highest fertility days and if your ovulating it will keep track of it every month and you reset it when you have your cycle... Everyone's body is different I will never take depo again

o wow so it stayed in your system that long with only 2 shots??

I took it when I was 17 twice and just now got pregnant I'm 21 I'm 27 weeks and 6 days so everyone is different one girl I went to school with got pregnant while on the shot. It stays in your system so long because it stores itself in your cells good luck hope you have better luck than I did

ok thanks. everyone says it can take up to a year or so...but do you guys kno is there anything i can take to ovulate quicker?

Everyones different,my cousin got pregnant a few months after being on depo for two years. Good luckers

I was not on Depo but I have heard it can take well over a year or longer when using depo, Good Luck
