LMP and US date off by a week

I went in for my first ultrasound thinking I was 6.5 weeks pregnant.  The ultrasound put me at 5 weeks, i have not gotten the results of my blood test back and am concerned that it could be a missed miscarriage.  The Dr. said that I was either a week earlier than I thought or the missed mc. and the Dr seemed more concerned of the missed mc.  Has anyone else been in a similar situation?  I have been experiencing symptoms of fatigue and sore breasts.  I haven't been as tired as I was about 3 weeks ago but still not my normal level of energy and the soreness has been in waves of super tender to a little less.  Any other experiences or information would be great- I am very anxious!

Thank you for the advice and support.  I just got back from the doctor and it ends up that it was/is a missed miscarriage- perhaps blighted ovum.  Definitely not the news my husband and I were hoping for.  We are going to try an stay positive and try again in a few months.

I agree with the above. It's very common for women to be a week behind or further along than they think they are. When I had my first ultrasound I was showing to be 7 weeks 3 days (I had no idea when my last period was since they're irregular) and when I went for my next ultrasound I was a week behind what I should have been, so they just changed my due date. Try not to worry yet until you get your next ultrasound. Good luck!!

It's normal to have your dates be off from your LMP. Remember most women don't actually ovulate until a week or two after their period ends. I wouldn't be concerned. Just wait to see how your blood levels look. Good luck with your bump!!
