Labor and Delivery

I need some labor and delivery stories. This is my first and I am completely freaking out about ripping and tearing and stitches and pooping during labor. Please tell me these horror stories can be avoided or don't happen to everyone.

Didn't happen to me..I went in at 9pm with bad cramps...was sent home without being checked and told it was probably early labor..
3 hours later the cramps were more intense and frequent and I had the urge to push...went back to hospital abd I was dialated to 9cm.
2 hours of pushing and no pain relief our boy was born.
I didn't tear either...he's not healthy and happy 2 week old baby.

They don't happen to everyone, but they can happen. Listen to your doctor. If they say don't push don't. It allows time for stretching & reduces the risk of tears. As far as pooping there's not a lot you can do. If it happens it happens. I've had 3 girls & never have. My first was a tough delivery with lots of pushing but it didn't happen. If it does they probably won't even tell you. I ask my mom if I ever did since she was there for them all & she said no, but she had with my sister. No matter what happens a healthy baby is the desired result so relax & focus on that. Congrats.
