Labor story- induction

We were scheduled to go to the hospital at 5 pm to be induced. I started off being 3 cm dilated and 60 % effaced. Pitocin was started around 6:30 pm after 3 iv attempts. I was given stadol around midnight and an epidural at 4 am. She had to redo the epidural after she hit a vein which was pretty awful. I remained 3 cm until 10 am the next morning. At noon I dilated to a 4-5 cm. At 2 pm I was at 7 cm and it took me until 4 pm to get to 10  cm. I started pushing at 5 pm and beautiful baby girl was born 51 minutes later weighing 8 lbs 7 oz and 21 inches long. After her head came out, her shoulder for stuck and nurses pushed on me like a tube of toothpaste to get her out. It was scary for the first few minutes because she wasn't crying. She became purple and limp and I kept saying something was wrong even though I felt like no one was listening. A nurse took her and screamed for someone to call NICU and the resuscitation team. After a minute of stimulation she began breathing on her own. Meanwhile, I started bleeding out and needed injections for it to stop. I couldn't drink water for the next hour in case they had to take me to surgery however that was luckily not the case. Baby and I are doing well after the nearly 45 minute ordeal and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I instantly fell in love with her and she is my world after only meeting her a little over a day ago :)

Thanks everyone :)

Yeseniaaaa- I was super worried to be induced. Honestly, it wasn't bad at all. It personally took me a while to dilate but with the pain management, it was totally manageable. I would recommend getting an epidural as soon as they will give it to you so that you can relax and save energy. Mine was on a pump and they allowed me to add extra doses on my own as needed. The epidural procedure was probably the most painful part but well worth relieving all of the other pain and they use lidocaine to numb the area before the procedure. It's not that bad at all and I would definitely do it again! Good luck, you got it. Enjoy your bundle of joy :)
