How does it feel when baby moves in first trimester?

I have no idea how it feels when baby moves in the early stage.  Please share your experience... I have been feeling some tiny movements like someone pushing you lightly from inside but strong enough to feel.  it is located way below the belly button and sometimes on the left sometimes on the right.    ...could it be? I will be 16weeks on saturday.  Please shed some light :0) Thanks ladies

It depends on you and your particular pregnancy.  Many women who've had children before recognize the flutters earlier than first time moms.  Some say they feel it as early as 10 weeks ...most people seem to feel it around 13-15 weeks ...and others can't feel it till 20+ weeks.

Also, some women attribute early movements to gas because they don't know what the baby moving feels like.  So that can lead to 'late' baby movements.  Also, depending on your weight, position of the placenta, and how the baby is facing can affect when you feel movement.

Wow then it must be my baby I am feeling now.. I am so happy.. And yes it does feel like popcorn popping.  I feel it once in a while. yay... I am so happy.  I feel it when I am about to go pee too or sometimes when I do something different like if it gets too hot or too cold.  sometimes when I sit slouching.  maybe it gets compressed a bit that is why it moves.. Whatever the reason or whatever triggers it.. Me and DH absolutely enjoy it.  He does not know when it happens of course but I tell him whenever it does. Thanks ladies :))

It felt like gas bubbles to me or a little fish swimming.  But the first feelings were bubbles.  Eventually you will see and feel everything, it's so amazing.  I miss it :(

I felt movements pretty early (even tho I kept doubting myself and saying "No, it's just gas").  Around 13/14 weeks I started feeling a fluttery/swirly feeling around my pubic bone.  As the weeks went on, I started feeling that more on my right side ...still below my belly button tho, but a little more above my pubic bone.  Baby seemed to like my right side.  Also, the feeling 'graduated' to a topsi-turvy 'stomach in my throat' feeling ...like I was going down that first big hill of a rollercoaster.

What I used to do, was lay on my back in bed or on the couch.  Within about 15-20 minutes, I could feel the baby pretty clearly.  I don't know if gravity kind of helped compress the area or if my baby was just 'up front' so I felt it easier.  That was how DH felt the baby kick so early too.

Now, at 24 weeks, the kicks, pokes, and swirls are *very* recognizable.  Sometimes I see my belly jiggle from the force of it.  No creepy alien movement yet tho ...but I'm looking forward to that!  I feel it all over now, but still more frequently on the right side of my tummy and closer to my belly button.  Sometimes I'll even feel these weird, tickly, "good" feelings down low near my pubic bone.  It's usually when I have to pee, so I'm thinking it's baby poking at my bladder.  lol
