Late fetal development @ 9 weeks?

Hi, I am another scared woman wondering if I'm carrying a baby, or headed towards miscarriage.

I had my first ultrasound at what I calculated at 8 weeks based on LMP (24 day cycle), and only a gestational sac was found.
HCG levels were 100,000, going up to 112,000 over 48 hours. Doc said they were strong, and they didn't need to be doubling at this level.
Second ultrasound at 8w 6d showed gestational sac, yolk sac, and fetal pole measuring 5 1/2 weeks, but no heartbeat.

I'm scheduled for a third ultrasound next wed, which would be 10weeks, and if there's no hb, it's over

Is this possible - to be almost 3 weeks behind? My dates can't be that far off!
Also, my doc did the 2 ultrasounds in the office, but gave me the option to have the 3rd at the hospital. Is there any benefit to that, vs having my doc do it?

Any advice would be really helpful!
thanks!

I am going through some what of the same thing. I have been bleeding for 3 1/2 weeks now which i have five children and never bleed with any of them. I went to the hospital in which i found i was pregnant with possible miscarriage. They gave me an ultrasound they saw a sac with nothing there, no heartbeat, no fluids nothing. I went to my doctor a couple days later in which they did another ultrasound and saw a sac with a yolk sac and that is it still no heartbeat, no fluid, nothing. My doctor told my i am my cervix is open as if i was having a baby. Now they are doing blood work to check my HCG levels. My doctor said he wouldnt get his hope up and now i dont i am sad and just ready to find out something. I dont feel as if anyone is telling me anything please help me! Something is better then nothing.

Yes, you can be off by 3 weeks.

But I also have to add that with HCG levels that high you can typically see more on a sonogram. Miracles happen all the time! It's a difficult limbo to be in and I'm sorry you're going through this. Please keep us posted on what ends up happening!
